Oh, excellent! I’ve needed this word in the worst way. I spend a good amount of time in the Sonoran Desert, and there is a certain scent when the rains finally come. It involves the hydration of parched, alkali earth and stones; the release of essential oils from the clean-smelling creosote bush, the smoky jojoba and sweet dessert marigold; and something else…desire, requited at last? Yes, I think that must be it.
